Publication Ethics & Publication Malpractice Statement

1. Introduction

The Agriculture Association of Textile Chemical and Critical Reviews Journal (AATCC Journal) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, transparency, academic integrity, and responsible scholarly publishing.

This statement defines the ethical responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher and applies to all manuscripts submitted to, accepted by, and published in the journal.

2. Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

Editorial Decision-Making

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit, originality, scientific rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editorial decisions are independent of commercial interests, funding sources, institutional affiliations, or Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Fair Play and Non-Discrimination

Editors assess submissions without discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, institutional affiliation, religious belief, or political ideology.

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents and are not disclosed beyond authorized editorial and peer-review processes.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors must disclose conflicts of interest and recuse themselves where necessary. Unpublished material must not be used for personal research purposes.

3. Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Assist editors in editorial decision-making
  • Provide objective, constructive, and scholarly feedback
  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts under review
  • Accept reviews only when able to meet agreed timelines
  • Identify uncited relevant work and potential ethical issues
  • Declare and avoid conflicts of interest
Personal criticism of authors is unacceptable. Reviews must remain professional, evidence-based, and respectful.

4. Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

  • Reporting Standards: Research must be accurate, original, and transparent
  • Originality & Plagiarism: All forms of plagiarism and self-plagiarism are prohibited
  • Multiple Submission: Simultaneous or redundant submissions are unethical
  • Authorship: Authorship must reflect significant scholarly contributions
  • Conflict of Interest: All financial and non-financial conflicts must be disclosed
  • Ethical Approval: Human and animal studies require ethical approval and consent
  • Post-Publication Errors: Authors must report significant errors promptly

5. Duties and Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • Ensure editorial independence and ethical oversight
  • Handle misconduct allegations according to COPE guidelines
  • Implement appropriate actions such as correction, retraction, or expression of concern
  • Ensure transparency of publication-related fees

6. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their published work. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction with proper attribution.

7. Archiving and Digital Preservation

The journal ensures long-term accessibility and preservation of published content through recognized digital archiving and preservation systems.

8. Data Availability and Research Integrity

Authors are encouraged to make underlying research data available, where appropriate, to promote transparency, reproducibility, and research integrity.

9. Retractions, Corrections, and Expressions of Concern

  • Erratum: Correction of publisher errors
  • Corrigendum: Correction of author errors
  • Retraction: Serious ethical violations
  • Expression of Concern: Ongoing investigations

10. Advertising Policy

Advertising, if applicable, is clearly separated from editorial content and does not influence editorial decisions or peer review.

11. Plagiarism Policy

All submissions undergo plagiarism screening using recognized detection software. Manuscripts showing unacceptable similarity may be rejected or returned for correction.

12. Open Access Policy

AATCC Journal is a fully Open Access journal. All published articles are freely accessible without subscription or access barriers.

13. Appeals and Complaints

Authors may submit appeals or complaints regarding editorial decisions or ethical issues. All appeals are handled objectively following COPE recommendations. Decisions after appeal are final.
